Everett Children's Museum

I took Hailey to the Everett Children's Museum yesterday for the first time and boy did we have fun! The place is huge and has so much fun stuff to do! I didn't even realize it had 3 floors until it was time to go, so next time we will start off in the art room since we didn't get to use it at all! Hailey really loved the trains and the water room. I thought the glow in the dark room was the best because it had a wall that was basically a hug Light Bright.

I'm so glad that I bought a membership because we plan on going back a lot!

Goodbye Summer, hello Fall!

We will miss the warm weather, popsicles, and playing in the water, but we are excited for stormy nights, changing colors, and fun holidays! And our upcoming trip to Disneyland!

Bathroom remodel

After the successful entry way remodel, Jeff felt confident redoing the bathroom too! (I have been wanting this since we moved in 4 years ago!) I painted the bathroom a light mossy green and painted the ceiling white to freshen it up. Jeff installed a gray tile floor, which looks great. We also installed a new vanity, sink and toilet, along with a new mirror and medicine cabinet. It looks amazing and I am already excited to move on to the master bath...although I think we will probably wait a couple of months.

New entry way

Again I have fallen behind on blogging this month, but in my defense, we have been very busy with home improvement projects. Starting with the entry way. It started with Jeff "just looking" at the old laminate tile in our entry way, when then turned in to half of the floor being ripped up. So it was off to Lowe's we went to pick out new flooring :-) Funny how things happen like that! The project went great, except for the part where Moose and Caesar barreled through the barrier Jeff put up while the adhesive was on the floor. The dogs ended up covered in glue, especially Moose, who face planted and rolled over when she slid on the floor. It's funny now, but at the time Jeff and I were SO mad!! After a quick break for the bath, we were back on track.

Hailey really enjoyed "helping" Jeff with the project and even "fixed" her tractor toy with a screw driver, while supervising Jeff.

During the same weekend, I also repainted our living room and the entry way. It really freshened up the rooms and it looks great. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out, Jeff did great.

Zoo fun

Earlier this month, Hailey got to go to the zoo with Jeff and Scott. She had a lot of fun feeding the birds, seeing all the animals and trying to tickle the penguins.

If You're Happy and You Know It...

Hailey's first haircut

Hailey got her very first haircut last weekend and she did so great. I didn't even have to use the lollipop I had hidden in my pocket!! Her hair is wild and curly, so we just wanted a little trim to make it more manageable, but I was worried that she would lose her curls because that happened to me when I was a baby, but thankfully she didn't.

It was neat because Hailey's favorite teacher from daycare, Annie, was also there to get her haircut and that made Hailey really excited. Hailey sat in the chair and didn't move too much at all. She was happy as long as she could still see Annie in the mirror. After she got her haircut, she kept saying "I want haircut", and where ever we went for the rest of the day, she would put her head down to show people her haircut, including random strangers.

I'm sad because I wasn't able to collect any hair to put in her baby book :-( There wasn't much they trimmed off and it was so fine it just seemed to disappear. Sad!

Lynden Fair

Hailey got to visit the Lynden Fair 3 times this year! We went once to visit Jeff while he was working at the WSP booth, then we went out with friends, and then Hailey and Jeff got to go with his family while I was at work! Hailey loved the animals and the tractors, and of course the fair food! She got to see the cows up close thanks to my friend Jill who knew some of the farmers. She also got to eat a moo-wich and she practically ate the entire thing. Thankfully the fair wasn't too hot this year, it made walking around much more enjoyable.

Goodbye August!

I can't believe that it is September already. The month went by much too fast and I did not blog nearly enough. Hopefully this month I can get back on track.

Hailey is such a little person now. She speaks in sentences all the time, most recently she said "Ow! I stubbed my toe!" after she stubbed her toe. I was shocked that she even knew what stubbing a toe was! She is such a sponge, and loves learning new things.

She also sang her first song in August. It just so happens to be her favorite song, the Birthday song! She can sing 3 out of the 4 lines of the song. She sings in this adorable little voice that I could listen to for hours. She can also sing a bit of "Twinkle Twinkle". She requests "Isty Bitsy Spider" a lot and does all the right hand movements in the right parts.

Hailey is still a great sleeper, although we did go through a couple nights this month of her not sleeping through the night. We got her a stuffed turtle that shines stars and a moon on her ceiling thinking maybe she was afraid of the dark and it seemed to help. Thankfully, we are all sleeping well now. Hailey is still taking a nap in the afternoon, which we will miss when she stops needing a nap.

Hailey will begin her 3rd month of gymnastics this month. She really enjoys swinging on the bars and jumping into the foam pit. She is doing better at following the teachers directions, but she isn't too interested in doing the stretches before class starts, she just wants to get to the fun stuff!

In July Hailey moved up to the "Treehouse" room at daycare (toddler room) and she is having a blast there. She loves her teachers, and everyone loves her there. The teachers ask us constantly to please enroll her full time instead of part time because she is so much fun to have in class. That makes us feel really good :-) She still only goes to daycare 5-7 times a month, but we know she really enjoys it and is learning a lot.

Jeff and I are both on dayshift right now, woohoo! So we are enjoying all the family time we get even if it is only in the evening. It's nice to be home and tuck Hailey in to bed at night.

I am still doing school part time. I am getting my pre-reqs done for the nursing program, so hopefully this time next year I can get on the waiting list. This quarter will be the first time I will be responsible for doing my homework on my own time as opposed to doing it while I'm at work on graves. I'm nervous about my Biology class this quarter because I haven't done a Science class since high school.
