Baby stuff!
We got this beautiful glider chair from my father-in-law for Christmas. It is SO comfortable and it is going to be perfect for rocking the baby and for all the late night feedings. We put it in the living room for now, until we get the nursery set up. If we sit in it, Moose HAS to get on our lap to look out the window. She has a perfect view of the backyard from our lap, and she loves to watch the squirrels. I can only imagine sitting in the chair with the baby on one arm and Moose on the other!
Thanks again Gary! We love the chair!

Shop with a Cop
Today Jeff participated in "Shop with a Cop." He met up with about 25 other local police officers and together, they drove in a procession with their emergency lights on, to Walmart. All of the children were lined up outside of the store waiting for them to arrive. Jeff was paired up with 2 little boys who were about 6 years old. He helped them pick out a bunch of fun toys. Each child was also able to pick out a new winter coat and a new pair of shoes. After all the shopping, the kids got to meet Santa and have their picture taken with Santa and "their" cop. Here is a picture of Jeff and one of the boys he shopped with.

Yes it's true...
We bought a van! Not just any van, it's the Cadillac of vans! It's a 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring edition. It has excellent safety ratings and tons of airbags to keep us safe. Plus there is tons of room for the baby, the dogs, and all the stuff we are going to be packing around. We couldn't be happier with it!

Christmas picture
It's exciting to think that next year we will have a new addition to the MacDonald family. The dogs are going to be jealous!!
2nd Ultrasound
We had our second appointment and ultrasound today. At the appt. a nurse gave us a ton of information and books to read. However, the most exciting part was the ultrasound! We could see the baby really well and at one point the baby put it's hand up by it's face and "waved", and then it turned it's back on us!! The baby moved around some and even put it's legs straight out. It was amazing. The tech got some really good pictures. In the first picture you can see the different halves of the brain (on the right), and the second picture shows a close up of the baby's hand. Jeff is convinced the baby is going to be left handed because that's the hand the baby used to "wave" at us. The last two pictures show the baby's hand up by it's face. It's legs are tucked up underneath it. We also got to hear the heartbeat. It was so fast and it sounded like a herd of horses. The baby's heartbeat was 171 beats per minute! Our next appt. is Jan. 2 and we will have an appt in Feb. to find out the sex of the baby.

Thank you Cheryl and Joseph!!
My brother Joseph, and soon to be sister in law, Cheryl sent me the cutest preggo care package full of goodies and treats! I can't wait to try the Preggo Pop's, I have heard really good things about them. You can't tell from the picture, but I tested out a few of the chocolates before I took the picture, and they are delicious! Thank you again Joseph and Cheryl, see you at Christmas!!

1st Ultrasound!
We had our first appt. with our OB today, it was so exciting! We got to see our little peanut dancing around all over the screen. We couldn't believe how active it was! We also got to see the heartbeat. In the pictures, the baby's head is in the left corner. Our Dr. gave us the estimated due date of July 4th, and we go back in on Dec. 11th for another ultrasound where they will measure the baby, and we could possibly get to hear the heartbeat. EXCITING!

Police Ball
The Police Ball was lots of fun! The food was good, the company was great, and the entertainment was even better (see the pics of Jeff and Steve below!) We shared a table with our friends Steve and Lisa Dills and Melissa and Todd Fecht. The guys had way too much to drink, but they provided a lot of entertainment and amusement throughout the night. Steve and Jeff spent some time on stage dancing and "singing" along to the band, I only wish I could have gotten it on video!

Approx. 9 weeks
Not much new this week, we celebrated Thanksgiving with both families and it was delicious! Being pregnant during the holidays is definitely the way to do it because now I have an excuse to eat lots of yummy holiday food!
Jeff and I are going to the annual Police Ball on Saturday at the Skagit Valley Casino, it should be a lot of fun. It is a charity event with dinner and dancing, and it's a nice excuse to get all dressed
up for the night. It will be our 3rd year going and it seems to get better every year. I will post pictures afterwards!

The baby bump watch continues...although maybe I should refer to it as the baby bloat watch because that is how I feel. UGH! My work pants are tight already, although I haven't gained any weight. I will continue to tell myself that it's bloat, although whenever I tell my mom this she just laughs at me. She must know something I don't :-) We are still impatiently counting down the days until our first visit to the OB on Dec. 4!! Woohoo!

Graveyard + pregnant = Misery!!
Okay, I am officially exhausted as I sit at work at 1:54 AM! I should be in bed sleeping! I feel as though my body and mind are asleep anyway, so I might as well be in bed. All I do is count down the minutes until I can get in to bed. How sad is that? I have also been having bouts of nausea. It comes and goes periodically. When I get up in the morning (okay, the afternoon) it's probably the worst, and then it comes in short waves throughout the day. I will be happy with nausea as long as I don't start throwing up. I hate throwing up. Other then that, I have been drinking an insane amount of water and I feel like I use the bathroom every 20 minutes. I am thankful my co-workers are understanding. Hopefully they remain that way :-)

Thank you Jamie!
My sister-in-law Jamie is a sweetheart! She was kind enough to talk to a lady she knows at our OB's office and they were able to schedule me with the female doctor I was hoping to see!! I am so happy and that is a huge, uncomfortable weight off my shoulders! Thank you again Jamie! Our first appointment will be on Dec. 4.

Waiting
After we got confirmation of the pregnancy from my Doctor, we began searching for an OB. I didn't expect to have any problems finding a Doctor. I was wrong! The OB that my sister in law recommended (and who I was hoping to see) was not accepting new patients and neither were the other 3 that I called!! Geez! So as of now our OB is a man. At first I was extremely uncomfortable with the thought of having a male OB, but I think that I am okay with it now. This OB was highly recommended by one of Jeff's friends. Sooooooooooooo, our first appointment is on Dec. 3! That is so far away! I should be about 9 weeks along by then.
The waiting game begins! Other than being tired all the time, I am not experiencing any other symptoms. I will post some belly pictures soon!

Telling our parents...
We told our families today the exciting news! It was fun and nerve racking at the same time. We bought 2 baby themed picture frames and typed up the saying "Your souvenir will arrive in July 2008", and then we wrapped up the frames. It was pretty cute! We told each set of parents that we brought them back something from Florida. We went to Jeff's dad's house first and then to my parents house. Here are some pictures of their reactions. Everyone was very happy! My Dad somehow was able to guess the news before we arrived, I am still baffled by this...

We are pregnant!!!!
Many of you know that we just got back from Florida on Oct. 26, 2007. Well, we brought back a little "souvenir" from Disney World!! We are pregnant!!! On Sunday the 28th, I decided to take a pregnancy test, just to see...imagine my surprise when I saw the 2 lines appear!! I couldn't believe it, I had to take the test and the instructions out to Jeff to have him read the results because I was in shock! And then we took another test just to make sure!
