Lynden Fair fun!
We love the Lynden Fair and look forward to it every year. What's not to like about lots of animals, fun rides, and of course Moowiches! We took Hailey out last Monday for most of the day, and then we went back on Tuesday for a concert. Hailey loved the baby pigs and goats, and we were constantly going back and forth between the barns to see all the animals over and over again.
Raspberry and blackberry picking
While Jeff was working, I took Hailey out to pick some more berries. While picking raspberries, Hailey enjoyed running to the end of the row we were on, picking one raspberry and running it all the way back to the bucket. Sometimes. The other times, she would gobble up the berry enroute to me. :-) So this mama did most of the picking. Then when we went to pick blackberries (at the same place), Hailey decided she wanted to "pull weeds like at grandma's house." So Hailey dug a big ole hole and got very dirty, but it kept her entertained while I picked 15 pounds of fresh berries!
Skagit County Fair
I'm a little bit behind, so....a couple weeks ago, we took Hailey down to the Skagit County Fair. We got to see all the baby animals, Hailey rode on a horse for the first time, and she got to ride on 3 carnival rides for the first time. We also gorged on fair food, like corndogs, french fries, and ice creams, yum!

Glucose test
On Tuesday I did my lovely Glucose test. Which involves drinking a gross sugary drink, and then getting blood drawn exactly an hour later. I did it, and was excited to be done with it...until the doctor's office called and said my results were high which could mean I have gestational diabetes. They informed me I would need to go back to the lab for a 4 hour glucose test. Which involves fasting for 8-10 hours prior. Lovely. So last night at work, I stopped eating and drinking at 2am and then went home and slept til 1030 and then went to the lab for first of many blood draws. After the initial blood draw, they had me drink another, even more sugary glucose drink and then I had to return to the lab in an hour for another blood draw. Repeat that 3 times and finally at 2:30pm I was able to eat food. I'm hoping to get the results tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have gestational diabetes.

Birch Bay
Thursday we headed out to Birch Bay with the Rogers family. The tide was way out when we got there but it came in quickly throughout the couple hours we were there. Hailey and Lexi had a blast getting all dirty and playing in the small tide pools that were filled with seaweed, yuck! They didn't mind though...After a fun time at the beach, we all headed to McDonald's for a fast, late dinner.

Zoo, Great Grandma's and the waterfront
Wednesday was a hot day, but Jeff and I were both off, so we headed to Seattle to hit the zoo. It seemed like we mostly just wandered around and let Hailey play in the play area (because it was nice and shady), but we did manage to see a few animals too. After the zoo, we headed over to my Grandma's house for a quick visit. Hailey really likes to visit Great Grandma because of Pumpkin the cat. Hailey LOVES cats, and Pumpkin is a tad overweight and usually pretty stationary, so Hailey can pet her a lot. After our fun visit with Grandma, we headed down to the waterfront to fulfill my craving for crab that I have been having for a couple of weeks now. What better place to do that at besides The Crab Pot! the food was amazing, and even Hailey really liked the crab. After dinner, we visited some cute little shops on the waterfront before heading home. It was a long, fun day!
