Woody!
Hailey got this "Jessie" shirt for Christmas and it's kinda perfect because Hailey and "Jessie" both have red hair!
Christmas at the McCoy's
After a little nap, Hailey and I headed down to my parents house in Mt. Vernon for an early dinner and our family Christmas. As usual, the food was amazing and people were way to generous. Hailey had a blast being the center of attention, and she LOVED the horse that my parents got her. She got on it and said "Giddy up!" Hailey also got her first Barbie dress up kit with pink high heel shoes, clip on earrings, a purse and a credit card from Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Joseph. She surprised us all by how well she figured out how to walk in "heels". She definitely didn't learn that from me!
Jeff came down after he got off work and enjoyed dinner and presents as well. It was a long, fun day and I wish we could rewind and do it all again!

Christmas 2010
I got off work at 6am on Christmas morning, and Jeff had to go to work at 8am, so when I got home from work, we woke up Hailey to open presents. We had been talking up Santa so much, that I didn't even have to try hard to get her to wake up, I just said "Santa was here!" and she sat right up and was ready to go! She was really excited about her stocking, so much in fact, that she didn't even notice all the presents until we pointed them out to her! After opening the stockings, Hailey got to open the last door on her Advent calendar, which contained a Tinkerbell bracelet and then she noticed that Santa had almost eaten all the cookies, and drank all the milk. The carrots were also missing. This really excited her, and you could just see her taking everything in, and thinking about Santa being in our house.
Santa was very good to us, and somehow he knew that Hailey is in love with all things Toy Story! She was squealing with delight when she opened Mr. Potato Head and wanted to play with him right away. Hailey's favorite gift by far, was a talking Woody doll (Toy Story). She hugged him and didn't let him out of her sight for the first 2 days.
Jeff got a new lens for his camera to replace one that was broken, and a new coffee maker. I got a pink Ipod Nano and the movie Eclipse! Christmas was so much fun this year because Hailey was so in to it! It's so fun and magical to see things through her eyes.
Thankfully, Hailey was worn out after opening presents so we both laid down for a 3 hour nap, which I SO needed after working a 12 hour shift. Then it was off to Mt. Vernon to celebrate with my family!

Christmas at Papa Mac's
We celebrated Christmas with Papa Mac on Christmas Eve with Jeff's sister and family. I had to work graveyard that night, so we did it a bit earlier than normal. The kids, Ashley (8), Lincoln (4), and Hailey (2.5), had a great time, and they got spoiled rotten with some really great gifts. Some favorite gifts the kids got: Ashley-DQ Blizzard marker, Lincoln-Motorized trucks, Hailey-Little People Animal Sounds Farm.
I was really sad about having to work Christmas Eve, because I was going to miss Jeff and Hailey opening up their Christmas pajamas (which is a new tradition for our family). But because of technology, I was able to watch them open the presents via ichat on our computers! It was really cool and made me feel a little bit better about not being at home.

Hailey update
Hailey is such an amazing little talker now. She speaks in full sentences, and she knows words/phrases that we have no idea how she learned, not bad ones, just big ones! Here are some of our favorites things that she has said or done in the past month or two that we never want to forget.
-While passing a big truck in the Haggen's parking lot, Hailey says "Oh my God that's a big truck!"
-Hailey saying "What the heck?" at the Lights of Christmas.
-Hailey saw her cousin Ashley wearing a puffy vest and asked her "Are you going on a boat?" (She thought it was a life vest!) She has only been on a boat once, so we were amazed that she remembered wearing a life vest.
-Today Hailey heard me drop something in the kitchen, so she came running in and said "Are you ok mommy? Did you drop something on the floor?" She then told me 4 times to "be careful" and to "not fall down".
-The way Hailey takes care of her baby dolls. She rocks them and tells them "it's ok" and "it's time to go night night now". She also puts them on time out "for not listening to me!" On any given day, we have 3 or 4 baby dolls scattered around the living room covered with "blankets" (towels). And you have to be very quiet when they are sleeping, or Hailey will tell you to be quiet over and over again.
-Hailey asks us to sing her "It's a Small World After All" at bed time, and she always says "One more time" while holding up one finger.
-The way she is obsessed with "her guys" and "her friends" who are little character figurines. She has to take certain ones to bed with her every night, and in the morning, she has to take them out of bed and some of them always have to be in the car with us as well. They go in the bath with her and she lines them up on the side of the tub. Sometimes "her guys" go to sleep too, and she turns them face down on the coffee table so they can sleep.
-How she wants to "fly like Tinkerbell" all the time, which means she rides on our backs as we run through the house. It's hilarious and she giggles the whole time.
-Whenever we ask her what she did at school, the first thing she always says is "I played outside!" with such enthusiasm. Then she tells us that she ate snack and went night night with a binky. We know that her day consists of so much more than these 3 activities, but these must be her favorites!
-When I leave for work in the evening, Hailey has to tell me multiple times that she loves me and to "have a good night at work...I will see you in the morning!"
-The way she says "Take a picture of me!" and she stands next to something with a cheesy smile so we can snap a picture. :-)
-How Hailey has picked up on being polite and always saying "Please, thank you, I'm sorry and Bless you." It makes me so proud.
-The way Hailey sleeps through the night still :-)
We couldn't have asked for a sweeter, more intelligent girl and she truly makes our lives so much more fun. We are so proud of the little girl she is becoming and can't wait for the coming year to see what else is in store for us!

Lights of Christmas
On Friday we went to dinner in Stanwood, then headed to the Lights of Christmas with Gary, The Thomas's and the McNutt's. It was coooooold, but lots of fun! The kids had fun singing Jingle Bells while running from one light display to the next, and they really liked seeing Bruce the Spruce. It was pretty busy, but we got to see Santa right before closing time, so we missed the line. When Hailey sat on Santa's lap, she wanted one thing: A candy cane. She wouldn't give Santa the time of day, she just wanted that candy cane. It was funny...then she didn't even eat it, she went for a warm donut instead (smart girl!).
We ran in to the Lupe and Abigail who are the wife and daughter of a trooper who used to work with Jeff before transferring to Alaska to become an Alaska State Trooper. It was fun to see them (they were down visiting family). Hailey and Abigail always have fun playing together, so I think we need to plan a trip to Alaska soon :-)

Mt. Baker fun
We took a day trip up to Mt. Baker to play in the snow. It was sooooo cold and there was a crisp wind up there, but Hailey loved playing in the snow. She really liked being thrown in to the snow bank and then sliding down. Her favorite doll, "baby Jack" also got to play in the snow :-) After we played in the snow for a bit, we warmed up in the car with hot chocolate and sandwiches.
