Hats
Hailey loves hats. She wants to wear them all the time, and if she sees one, she wants to put it on her head no matter what. She even likes to wear Jeff's campaign hat.
Hailey is saying lots of new things now:
Cracker
Costco
Caesar
Please (sounds like peas)
Down (as she points to the floor to be put down)
"Meme" (Grandma)
"Papa" (Grandpa)
She understands almost everything we say, and continues to be our shining star!

Let the time outs begin!
Two days we started doing timeouts with Hailey. So far they have been pretty effective, although threatening a time out doesn't exactly discourage her behavior yet. We have been making her sit in front of a closet door for a minute and then explaining to her why her behavior or actions were inappropriate. She cries during her timeouts and sometimes tries to get up, but for the most part she just sits there. :-)

Pj playtime
Hailey is such a ham. We can't seem to get enough pictures for her. She is doing a lot more independent play, which is nice. She is still enjoying her Barbie car, but she doesn't drive it as much as we thought she would. She does love to sit in it to drink her milk, or just get in and out of it.
These cow pajamas are my all time favorite, so adorable!

Jungle Playland
Wow, what a fun time we had at Jungle Playland in Mt. Vernon! Hailey was a little intimidated by the big kid area, so we mostly stuck to the toddler area, which was lots of fun too! Hailey loved the ball pit and going down the slide on her stomach and head first. We did go over the big kid area to go on the slide which was SO fast! Wow, I was not expecting it at all, and we came shooting out the end of the slide and across the floor! Hailey loved it of course! We can't wait to take Jeff back there to play too!

Greater Vancouver zoo...again
On Sunday we headed up to Canada to go to the zoo. It is so close to our house, we just love it! This zoo is less busy then Woodland Park, and the walkways are huge, so Hailey can run free for the most part because it's never too busy. The zoo had a baby giraffe that was beyond cute. It was licking the window right in front of us, and trying to nibble on the window pane. Hailey got to pet a donkey and it even made the "hee-haw" sound at us.

Park pics
18 months old
Hailey had her 18 month old check up today. Her stats are: 21 lbs 7 oz (12th percentile) and she is 31 3/4 inches tall (50th percentile). Hailey really likes her doctor, and felt comfortable enough with him to take his stethoscope and put it around her neck. She then walked around the room wearing it and her diaper. It was so cute.
Hailey has recently learned the word "please" and we have been encouraging her to say it when she wants something instead of grunting and pointing. She loves her books and her babies, and she amazes us each day with the things she understands. She had her first long day at daycare (11 hours) this week and she did great. We know she has a lot of fun there, and the teachers love her. It just makes me sad, thankfully, that only happens about 5 times a month while Jeff and I are both on dayshift.
We had a low key New Year's this year. We went to Stanwood to hang out with the Legler's and the Rutledge's. We were home by 11pm, Hailey was asleep by 11:02pm, and Jeff and I stayed up to watch the ball drop on TV. I can't remember the last time I actually stayed awake until midnight to celebrate the New Year, so it was fun!
