Oregon trip 2010

We borrowed my parent's RV and headed to Oregon to see my best friend Jen, her hubby Matt and their 2 year old son Cal. We drove to Eugene, OR where the kiddos got to run around and play together for a couple days before we headed over to the coast. After leaving Eugene, we headed to Jesse Honeyman State Park in Flourence, OR which is famous for their sandy dunes. We got to watch people race their quads up "competition hill" and Hailey got to play in the sand, which she loved.
We camped at 4 other parks along the coast and explored Seaside (Hailey got to feed seals), Tillamook (we ate tasty cheese and ice cream at the Tillamook factory), Cannon Beach (We saw Haystack Rock and HUGE waves) , and Astoria (We stopped at the Goonies house! Pic at the bottom) on our way back to WA. Once back to WA, we stayed at SeaQuest State Park and explored the Mt. St. Helens museum. Unfortunately, it was too foggy to actually see Mt. St. Helens, but it was fun none the less.
We didn't have the fantastic weather we had hoped for, in fact, it was rainy, windy and cold for a lot if the trip. But we still had a blast and enjoyed our first camping adventure as a family. Hailey was such a great camper, and did great on the long drives. She slept great and had so much fun playing in the sand and running from the ocean waves. She was constantly asking to go to the "beep" (beach).

Happy birthday to...me!

On May 13th, I turned 28. It was kind if surreal and it really snuck up on me because we had been busy planning our camping trip to Oregon, and were leaving on the 14th. I had also worked 6 graveshifts straight and was beyond exhausted...so when I got home at 6am, I was surprised that Jeff was awake to wish me a happy birthday. Hailey picked out a huge Elmo card for me, and Jeff got me the most beautiful necklace.

Mother's day.

Mother's day, my father in law gave me a beautiful hanging plant and Jeff put together a book of our blog beginning when we found out we were pregnant. The book is awesome, and it is really neat to look back through and read about our experiences before Hailey was born, and track Hailey as she has grown into the little fireball that she is now.

637's going away party

Our friend's JJ and Lupe Hennessey are moving to Alaska. JJ works with Jeff and recently got hired by the Alaska State Patrol. They will definitely be missed, and Hailey will miss their adorable daughter Abigail, who happens to be Hailey's best friend :-(

We threw a big Alaska themed party from them at the trooper's favorite break place, Cascade Pizza. Even Sarah Palin was there! Or maybe it was just a look-a-like. Everyone put together an Alaska survival kit for the Hennessey's which was stored in a huge Styrofoam cooler. The kit included beer, fire starting materials, a shirt with a bear on it, toys for Abigail, and other random things.

It was a great party, and it is so hard to say goodbye to good friends. We wish them all the luck in Alaska, and we can't wait to visit them soon!

22 months old

Hailey is 22 months old! She wakes up happy most mornings, around 930 and wants to eat yogurt (or 2 yogurts lately). So we sit on the couch and watch Dora while Hailey feeds herself, pretty well most of the time. Then we usually play inside, run errands or go to the park. Then it's lunch time, followed by nap time. Hailey takes about a 2 hour nap, and goes down easily. After nap time, more playtime.

Hailey is still going to the YMCA daycare, where the teachers adore her. She only goes about 4-5 times a month, but she really enjoys herself when she is there.

Here is some of the words Hailey is using now:

Moose
Again
"Are you ok?"
"where did it go?"
"I don't know"
Ashley (cousin)
"inkin" (for Lincoln, her cousin)
"Mamie" (for Aunt Jamie)
Deer
Doggie
Sorry

She can point out most animals in a book correctly when asked, and she also knows the sounds most animals make.

We use the timeout's when needed, they don't happen too often but she really seems to get it. Sometimes if we threaten her with it, she will just go sit in the timeout spot on her own.

Hailey's best friend Abigail is moving to Alaska next month, so that will be hard. She is Hailey's only real friend besides her cousins. She walks around the house saying "Abigail" over and over again :-( Abigail's dad is a Trooper with Jeff, and he got hired by the Alaska State Patrol. We are excited to have a new place to visit, but sad to see our friends go.

We are going on vacation later this month. We will be cruising down to Oregon to visit my friend Jen and her family, and then we are going to camp our way back up the coast. We are hoping for sunny and warm weather!

Mariner's game

On Sunday we headed to the Mariner's game with Jeff's dad. Hailey got to spend the day playing with her cousins. Jeff and I weren't feeling too good, we both had nasty head colds, but we didn't want to miss the game. The M's lost to the Texas Rangers in the 11th inning. It was an exciting game with some good plays.

After the game, we went to the Crab Pot to stuff ourselves with delicious seafood!

More park fun
