Sick of being sick
I've been sick since Sunday with some type of stomach bug...it hasn't been fun. I keep hoping that I will feel better, but so far, I still feel icky. Today was supposed to be my first full day back at work, but thanks to this wonderful bug, I had to call in sick. Thankfully Jeff is off today and tomorrow so he can take care of Hailey, because I have no energy and am pretty much worthless. I just hope that Hailey and Jeff don't get it next. Here is a cute picture of Jeff keeping Hailey entertained...

Rice cereal
Okay, so I know I posted before that we were going to wait a bit to introduce rice cereal but we decided to go for it. Watching how Hailey acts when she sees us eating made us change our minds. She follows the fork/spoon to our mouth and then smacks her lips like she is eating. So we thought we would see how she likes rice cereal. We don't think she got a whole lot down, but she was good at opening her mouth for the spoon. Here are some cute pictures.

4 month appt.
Hailey had her 4 month check up today. She weighs 13 lbs 4 oz (48%), is 24 3/4 inches long (74%) and her head size is 40 1/2 cm (27%). The doctor said she may be a tall girl if she continues on this path. She is right on track with her development and the doctor said we can start feeding her rice cereal at any time, although I think we are going to wait until she is at least 5 months old. She already seems interested in food and watching us eat, however, I have food allergies, so I would like to wait as long as possible.
Hailey got 2 shots today and one oral vaccine. Watching her get shots was horrible, but she calmed down quickly and was smiling in no time. When we got home from the doctor, there was a special toy waiting for Hailey. Her name is Sophie the Giraffe, and she is supposed to be the best teething toy made. A couple of the kids in my Mommy and Me class have them and they can't get enough of them. So I ordered one for Hailey, she really seems to like it, she especially likes to chew on Sophie's nose and ears. The tricky thing is going to be keeping the dogs away from Sophie because she looks like a dog toy. Here are some pictures of Hailey enjoying Sophie.

4 months old
Hailey is 4 months old today!!! I know I have said it before, but time is going by so fast!! I wish I could slow it down a bit. Hailey is changing so much. She is rolling over now, grabbing for things and laughing. She has recently discovered her feet and likes to grab them when her diaper is being changed. She seems to have gotten over being scared of people and doesn't mind being held by others.
Hailey has her 4 month doctors appointment tomorrow, and although I'm not looking forward to her getting shots, I'm excited to find out how much she has grown since her 2 month appt.
